Server Error in '/' Application
No caso do erro abaixo, o mesmo ocorreu porque eu criei uma página aspx, em que eu coloquei o controle reportviewer, porém por algum motivo deu erro no lado do servidor. Pois bem, eu apaguei a página e o erro continuou. Eu quase fiquei maluco com a página fora do ar, mas prestando atenção na mensagem vi que o erro estava no web.config, pois, mesmo apagando a página e removendo a referência ao reportviewer em References, o erro persistia.
O que faltava era apagar todas as referências ao reportviewer no arquivo web.config. Assim que apaguei as tais referências o site voltou a funcionar. Veja abaixo a mensagem de erro:
